Hi Nick. I am trying to get in contact with Alan Rosenfeld who I believe is now working at Apple. I worked with Alan a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago and would like to catch up. If you could pass on my email to him that would be fabulous. My name is Marion Harrington. Alan knew me as Marion Baker. Thanks in anticipation.

[...] Returning to work part-time, I offered Adobe my position back, and asked for a Leave of Absence for at least 6 months, unpaid and with no benefits so I could fully mentally and physically recover.
[...] After resigning from my previous job, it was clear that I was not going to do the exact same role. There were a couple of head-hunter calls, and some projects related to channel sales where I purposely said a firm no. Doing exactly the same type of thing would have probably been the easiest route to boot loads of cash, but the shortest road to insanity. Just putting the new cover pages on TPS reports was not a part of the original game plan. [...]

[...] In an effort to re-ignite my first love whilst on my leave of absence - I’ve been looking for a good TRS-80 emulator to rekindle the flames of technical desire. Also over the last 4 weeks I’ve also had a small “side project” watching the goings on in the desktop virtualization space, especially on the Mac. Parallels has been an excellent investment to get Windows XP running on the MacBook Pro; just waiting for the ACPI/Direct3D (or VMWare for the Mac) version so I can run a build of Windows Vista.
hey Nick

It is good to see that you are in tune with what is important in life: yourself and your family. This, combined with a passionate commitment in technology, has definitely made you into the person you are - someone who is there to assist people in making life better, more funky and (perhaps in your terms) neuron expanding!

Nick, one of the main reasons i joined Adobe in the first place was to work with extremely passionate people like yourself. I have extremely appreciated the time shared as collegues and am ultimately envious at the show of courage for what you have chosen to do. What a different world it would be if we didnt all plod along like lemmings...

While i know you wont be a stranger (Nick threatened to heckle me at my presentations!) I have already seen a great start to the return of the "Old Nick", the mad blogger (who was blogging before the word "blog" existed) who would get me excited about new weird and wonderful technologies that i otherwise maybe would not have stumbled upon for months, if not years.

So mate.. you maybe thinking " I walk away", but i'm whistling "Don't Dream its over". See you at an Adobe event soon.. hopefully on the same stage.
