Google, Lookout, PocketPC

google moth­er­load: Google Advanced Search Oper­at­ors. Just like “pho­toshop­ping” images, googling for inform­a­tion is almost a verb.

There are two major applic­a­tions I live in: Excel and Out­look. Lookout is a plugin/extension to Out­look that per­mits very fast, intel­li­gent search­ing across your Out­look folders. This saves me many minutes per day.

Another recent addi­tion to the gad­get list is a Pocket PC. Being able to browse the web and mail from a very small handheld.

Google and SOAP

A day of web site tweak­ages. google search in my nav­ig­a­tion bar and a new SOAP based MSN Mes­sen­ger status. This was imple­men­ted in 3 lines of PHP!

Froogle

The gods at Google have added another ser­vice– Froogle. This is a web-product pur­chase web site — that works. Apart from a highly appro­pri­ate name, it has the same qual­ity as the other Google ser­vices. I won­der how they make money out of this? The product I just searched for, and pur­chased I might add, was a yahoo site.
