Home Server Pimpin’

Monday, December 17th, 2007

My Windows Home Server just sits on my gigabit network, and well, works.
Since my last posting, I've added a 750Gb external hard drive bringing the total storage to something nearing 2Tb.
Others are pimpin' their installations: a major shout out goes to Andrew Dugdell and his combo home MAME / Home Server.

Bestest Christmas Webapp eva!
To all those subscribed to http://twitter.com/antisanta, I am sorry. I didn't know about the twitter feed until I was about 50 in to my 118 posts. Getting to the top of the Miserable Bastards list became a transitory obsession for a few moments.

From Scoble's post:
Another thing that opened my eyes? The Google Open Social press conference where I had the only video, thanks to Kyte.tv and [...]

Because Ashley Angell must be feeling somewhat guity for being a busy coder, we now have a day to help us all feel better.
Avril has put up with my twittering from strange places. I have decided to swear-off twitter until 2008. She's a good wife, and I love her heaps.

CPU Temperatures and Overlocking

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

In my research in the continuing overclocking research for GeneralMelchett, I've found that 55degC is a little warm for a processor.
The 8800GT is now installed and working well. Just waiting for the two 22" Dell LCD monitors, external speakers and new GeekDesk for the home GeekSpace and we are go!
Admittedly, GeneralMelchett has been burnt in [...]

Movember: It’s December, so it No Mo Time

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

Last day of Movember: I attempt a 19th Century French Mo'. Some claim an eyebrow fell off.

December, so it's Mo off time.
A really, really big shout out and thanks to all that supported me during Movember.
The dual causes of Prostate Cancer research and Beyond Blue will help men's health.
